JEFF Misenheimer


Jeff Misenheimer is a partner with more than 25 years of experience representing self-insured employers, insurance carriers, and third-party administrators in workers’ compensation and general insurance defense matters. He handles cases before the North Carolina Industrial Commission, North Carolina District and Superior Courts, and the state’s appellate courts, including the North Carolina Court of Appeals and the North Carolina Supreme Court.


Known for his steady approach and deep knowledge of workers’ compensation law, Jeff has earned an AV Preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubbell, the highest rating awarded for legal ability and ethical standards. He has also been recognized by North Carolina Super Lawyers.


Jeff is an active member of the legal community and is currently serving a second term on the North Carolina Bar Association’s Workers’ Compensation Section Council. He is a past chair of the Workers’ Compensation Practice Group of the North Carolina Association of Defense Attorneys and a former member of the association’s Board of Directors. He frequently speaks at continuing education seminars, including programs hosted by the North Carolina Industrial Commission and the NC Bar Association, among others.


Jeff earned his J.D. from the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University, where he competed on the Justice Richard “Red” Jones National Moot Court Team and served on the Henry Upson Sims Moot Court Board. He received his undergraduate degree from Hampden-Sydney College, where he majored in political science and played four years of varsity baseball.



Outside the office, Jeff is a longtime Bible study leader and has served on several church committees and boards. He’s an avid golfer, a music enthusiast, and enjoys traveling — but most of all, he enjoys spending time with his son, John.
