Sheri’s practice includes defending lawsuits against public and private entities, including insurance companies for: personal and commercial auto liability, personal injury, homeowners and commercial general liability, breach of contract, bad faith, unfair and deceptive trade practices, construction defects, products liability, medical malpractice, and subrogation claims. Sheri has over thirteen years of experience as a multi-state insurance claims adjuster. As an adjuster, she investigated and managed litigation for a wide variety of claims, including coverage disputes, personal and commercial auto liability, trucking and transportation liability, and general liability. Given her unique skill set and experience as an attorney and as claims adjuster, Sheri knows that whether the client wishes to resolve a claim quickly or wishes to litigate a matter all the way through the appellate courts, it is incumbent upon the attorney to execute good judgment based on knowledge, expertise, preparation, and amicable working relationships with other members of the community, profession, and judiciary.

Sheri graduated from North Carolina Central University School of Law, cum laude, where she served as a Senior Editor on the Law Review, American Bar Association representative, and Torts tutor for first year law students. During law school, Sheri clerked for the Honorable Deborah A. Robinson, United States District Court of the District of Columbia, and worked as a summer associate at a local plaintiffs’ personal injury law firm.

Sheri’s approach to practice includes evaluating her clients’ potential exposure, assessing the legal defenses available, and recommending a litigation or resolution strategy to mitigate the cost of defense and expedite favorable resolution. Sheri’s prior experience of working as a claims adjuster and working as an associate in a plaintiffs’ personal injury law firm, have provided her with a unique perspective on all insurance defense matters. Sheri strives to help her clients understand the legal process and the issues of their case to select a strategy that best serves their interests.

Sheri’s non-legal activities include all things Fantasy Football, cooking, traveling, and spending time with her dog Musa Luther King.
