Caroline began her legal career as an associate in the Raleigh office of a multi-state insurance defense firm, where she practiced primarily in the area of personal injury and wrongful death litigation. She then joined a well-respected plaintiff’s personal injury firm in Durham, before concluding that a return to the defense was in order; she joined Simpson Law in 2016. Having worked as both a defense attorney and a plaintiff’s attorney, Caroline has the advantage of being able to assess the strengths and weaknesses of her cases from both perspectives, enabling her to formulate thorough litigation plans for her insurance clients.

In addition to her experience handling personal injury claims, Caroline has also handled other civil litigation matters, including professional licensing defense, breach of contract claims, and homeowners association disputes, to name a few. Caroline strives to help her clients in understanding the legal process and issues of their case, and to select the process that best serves the client's interests in all practice areas.

In the community, Caroline is an active member of the Chapel Hill Bible Church, serves as an animal foster through the Wake County Animal Center, and is a frequent participant in fundraising events held by the Durham Animal Protection Society. An avid animal lover and horsewoman, Caroline spends most of her free time riding her horses with her husband, Danny, and playing with her four dogs.

Caroline’s Bar memberships include the North Carolina State Bar, 2011; the U.S. District Court, Eastern District, 2012; the U.S. District Court, Middle District, 2012; and, the U.S. District Court, Western District, 2017.
